Luino holds its large market every Wednesday, with people coming from Switzerland, Germany and France. The stalls fill the all the main streets of the town are filled with market stalls, with a wide variety of goods. There is an almost limitless supply of handbags, shoes and sunglasses The
weekly market has been held on Luino since 1541. It has over 300 stalls,
making it the biggest weekly market in Europe. Luino
is the most important town on the Lombardy side of the lake and the nearest
town to Dumenza, about 10 minutes by car. There are also buses that run
between Dumenza and Luino. Market day is the only day when you have to
pay to use the large gravel car park by the lake, but you usually find
a space.
